OLMC Parishioners Volunteer on Sunday's at the Cathedral Soup Kitchen
OLMC serves the midday meal on the second Sunday of the even months of the year at the Cathedral Soup Kitchen located downtown behind the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul. Each of these commitments requires approximately 10 volunteers.
Volunteers arrive downtown at the soup kitchen by 11:30 am and finish by 3 pm. As a team, we serve a meal and then work together to clean up the kitchen and dining areas. Our theme is the 2nd Luminous Mystery - The Wedding Feast of Cana - "Do whatever He tells you."
Our guests range from the working poor, to the homeless, to drug addicts, to the mentally ill. Therefore, we suggest not bringing children under 10 years old. All younger children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
